The opening ceremony of the center was attended by the mayor of Kokand Maruf Usmanov, the representative of the Indian Embassy in Uzbekistan, Mrs. Aditi Valundj and the director of the Indian cultural center named after Bahadir Lal Shastri Chandra Shekhar.

 

After familiarizing themselves with the exhibition of the achievements of the Kokand Pedagogical Institute, the guests cut the symbolic ribbon and solemnly opened the center of Indian culture and dance classes. The guests got acquainted with the exhibits telling about the culture, art and history of India.

 

At the negotiations held in the Kokand city hall, issues of the development of cultural ties, the development of yoga studios in Kokand were discussed.

 

A solemn event dedicated to the International Dance Day was held on Urda Square. At the event, Uzbek and Indian dances were performed, national music sounded. The Mayor of Kokand Maruf Usmanov and Professor Chandra Shekhar noted that holding such events contributes to the development of cultural ties and dialogue between peoples.
