According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 11, 2013 “On measures to prepare for and conduct the population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2023” the registration period has been extended to 2023. The relevant decision of the government is scheduled for November 1-25, 2023.

The census is a large-scale nationwide event that allows you to take a “photo” of a country’s population at a given time and is a reliable source of information about the population.

Population census is a periodic official census of the population of a country and its small settlements, which collects data on the social and demographic classifications of the entire population. This includes the process of collecting, processing, and aggregating information about people, as well as evaluating, publishing, and analyzing demographic and social data.
The census will be conducted in three stages.

The first phase lasts up to 3 years:
Preparing for the census;

Software;
Carrying out organizational work.
The second stage will last from 10 to 60 days, during which the census will be conducted directly.
The third stage is from 2 to 3 years:
Primary material data are aggregated;
Included in the electronic database;
Coding, control is edited;
The results will be announced.

The pilot census in the Republic of Uzbekistan will be held on November 1-25, 2021 in Khojaabad district of Agdijan region, Yukori Chirchik district of Tashkent region, Khiva city of Khorezm region and Yashnabad district of Tashkent city.
