According to the information provided by the employee of the Kokand Museum-Reserve Yahyo Dadabev last kurash competitions on the Urda square were held on 1872 and were linked to holiday in the honour of the son of the Khudayarhan was born.
The belt kurash world championship for the prize of the President of Uzbekistan was held on the Urda square on the motto “Kokand and sport”. Except of representatives of Uzbekiztan, on the competition took part wrestlers from Russia, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Israel, Georgia, India, Moldova, Romania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
